Emily Papsin
Emily is an IP and drug regulatory litigation lawyer in Toronto.
Emily received her JD from Osgoode Hall Law School in 2021, and was called to the bar in 2022. She also obtained her Bachelor of Science (Hons.) in Neuroscience from Dalhousie University. Emily has extensive laboratory and academic research experience in both clinical and bench-top environments, and has contributed to several research studies that appear in established peer-reviewed publications. While in law school, Emily focused primarily on litigation- and IP-based coursework and competitions, which included being named to Osgoode’s Baby Gale mooting team, and competing in the Harold G. Fox IP Moot. She also served as a Summer Judicial Law Clerk at the Ontario Court of Justice, where she supported eight of the Court’s judges.
In addition to her work as a litigator, Emily volunteers with the 519 Community Centre’s Legal Clinic, which provides free legal services to members of the 2SLGBTQIA+ community. She also contributes actively to professional bulletins and publications. Her latest piece titled “A small language change in law can help destigmatize suicide” was published in the Spring 2024 edition of the Advocates’ Journal.
Emily summered, articled, and began her career as a commercial litigation associate at a leading international law firm.
Emily is a member of the Intellectual Property Institute of Canada, the Advocates’ Society, and the Law Society of Ontario.
